Located in Central Vancouver Island, this adult orientated strata is seven minutes drive from Qualicum Beach and about 12 minutes from Parksville. Victoria is a 2 hour drive south, and Tofino in the Pacific Rim National Park on the west coast of the Island is also a 2 hour drive. The city of Nanaimo is a 25 minute drive to major shopping , and the ferry terminal for Vancouver is a 35 minute drive. It takes 1 hour and 35 minutes sailing time to Vancouver Horseshoe Bay. Comox Airport and Nanaimo Airport are about an hours drive. Qualicum Beach has its own small airport with daily flights to Vancouver.
This area is a major tourist destination having good clean sandy beaches, with lots of events happening in the summer. We have 6 golf courses in the local vicinity. Several private operators offer deep sea fishing and whale watching excursions. We are only minutes away from mountain lakes, waterfalls, and old growth forests. Wildlife is abundant in the area. Hiking, bicycle riding, sailing and bird watching are popular pastimes.
All necessary amenities are here, schools, doctors and dentists, supermarkets, etc., and no parking meters! Lots of good restaurants too. Wild salmon (several varieties), halibut, pacific oysters, shrimp and prawns are the local specialities, sold fresh off the boat at local marinas.
